Joe Maurath Jr.'s StreetLight Gallery

Joe is a fellow enthusiast and friend of mine. Joe has a library of knowledge and literally thousands of lighting artifacts from all over New England and the country including fixtures, lamps, photocontrols, miscellaneous parts, and lighting literature. This website is rich with informationon just about anything you'd need to know about the history of electric street lighting and also includes Joe's personal background/life story on how he got into street lights and insulators. Joe is also responsible for generously helping me get the lighting collection I have today. A number of vintage/rare pieces in my collection have either come from him or have been fixed with parts that came from him.

Zalimas Electric Light

This website is owned and operated by Steve Zalimas, a fellow lighting enthusiast and friend of mine. Steve is a great guy with a passion for saving and restoring vintage street lights. I have gotten a number of rare pieces from him over the years. Steve works tirelessly making contacts with various municipalities in Massachusetts converting over to LED street lights in an effort to save many of the old lights being removed. These lights are then tested, cleaned or painted, and made available to enthusiasts and other types of customers such as movie producers looking for that vintage touch to their streetscapes.
